My name is Anthea and this site about my aspirations as a Para Equestrian rider and provides information about riding with a disability - from my point of view anyway! I became a paraplegic after a paddock accident in 2006. A spinal injury is certainly a life altering experience, but horses have kept me positive and without the friendship, understanding and challenges they provide I'm sure my life post accident would be very different.

It's been a whirlwind journey, the highlight representing New Zealand at the London Paralympic Games in September 2012 with my special boy Mask and at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy 2014 with superstar Doncartier. It truly has been an experience of a lifetime and I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity - hopefully it isn't the last one!
Now I am starting on a new journey with Brian (On Twilight) retraining him as a Para Dressage horse, and maybe one day we will return to the international stage.
